Feature storytelling is where I live. The subject changes — sports, people, brands, ideas — but the mission stays the same: find the human at the center of it and make the audience feel something. No matter where the reps come, my craft remains recognizably the same. Below are some of my favorites. More unique coverage including zambonis and lawnmowers available upon request or assignment.
NFL: Running Backs
I turned relationships built on trust into a rare look at the humanity behind the scenes of one of the league’s tightest-knit position groups, as they looked to match the bar they raised. Part 2 available as well.
NASCAR: ERIK JONES
“That Jones Boy” has gone from premature star to new heights while remaining a hometown hero through it all. I shot, edited, produced and wrote this feature on Jones that went from a mid-week race across the state to his hometown parade at 7 a.m. before joining the family en route to my scheduled live NASCAR race day coverage.
IMSA: PORSCHE PENSKE
Coming into the 2025 Detroit Grand Prix, Porsche Penske was undefeated after five weeks of competition, with both liveries building what felt like untouchable success while the other side of the larger-than-life moto-corp was embroiled in scandal. Shot, edited, written, and turned in one day by myself.
NFL: DAVID MONTGOMERY
For our Thanksgiving pregame special with our sister station in Chicago, I chatted with Lions superstar and NFC North fan favorite David Montgomery in a little-known environment where he felt comfortable: at a bowling alley. Over competition and with his young son, we discussed a varieties of on- and off-field topics.
NFL: KELVIN SHEPPARD
As the Lions linebackers stood out for not only suffering more injuries than other positon groups across the NFL but for also outperforming in flexible fashion week in and out of the 2024 season, I sat down with Detrioit’s future defensive coordinator to discuss his deeply personal coaching journey and how his mentors in Allen Park shaped him today.
NASCAR: BRIAN WILSON
By joining my feature focus on Team Penske crew chief Brian Wilson with my FireKeepers Casino 400 live weekend coverage, I was able to bring fans as close as possible to the hot track action. Shot, edited, produced and written entirely by me.
HISTORY: TURKEY DAY FOOTBALL
For the same Thanksgiving pregame show, I dug deep into the University of Michigan’s historic artifacts with their staff archivists to illustrate the true history of playing football on this holiday.
IMSA: PRATT MILLER MOTORSPORTS
Two weeks into my time in Detroit, I exclusively took viewers behind the scenes of how those two famous yellow corvettes are made with one of the most storied legacies in sportscar racing existing quietly in Michigan.
NHL: JJ PETERKA
As I learned more about the blossoming winger, I was eager to explore his passion for fashion off ice. On a Sabres roadtrip down state, Peterka spent a day off shopping with me in SoHo while we chatted wardrobe and more.
NHL: DEVON LEVI
The 2x Mike Richter Award winner let me capture his final days on Northeastern’s campus before going pro with the Buffalo Sabres, including an extensive sit-down conversation about his career and perspective after a historic collegiate career. Shot, edited, written and produced entirely by myself.
NHL: TAGE THOMPSON
As the Sabres star center soared to new heights both on and off the ice, he shared a hidden creative passion with me that allowed him to open up in previously unshared light.
NHL: THE DUFFERS
Thanks to my routine of postgame live hits from KeyBank Center, I serendipitously found myself in the most heartwarming beer league game imaginable: the proud friends and family of Don Granato, who take an annual midnight skate wherever he is coaching as part of a cherished road trip.
PWHL: MAUREEN MURPHY
Followed Buffalo native around the inaugural PWHL draft to showcase not only hometown talent and her individual experience, but also how the new women’s league was shaping up to deliver professional-caliber experiences with investment backing ahead of this historic event.
NHL: JASON PAYNE (three parts)
Before covering the Bills at Paycor Stadium on MNF and what would unpredictably turn into one of the most controversial NFL medical emergiencies in the modern era, I went down to Cincinnati early to sit down with the only black head coach in any level of professional hockey in North America to discuss how race impacted his playing career and how that shapes his coaching philosophies.
